Remember when CIA/NSA agent Snowden admitted he worked for Dell? You didn't need this article to understand what was going on. Like in Soviet Russia agents in every company (those that matter and the big ones).
If you buy a computer on internet from Dell or HP, they might install a special spying hardware for you. They usually do it so clumsily (as Yankee-Doodles do) that it uses a lot of processor power, thus revealing the pitiful attempt. It's used mainly for recording from microphones placed in the laptops (or phones) in such a way that they cannot be turned off. US regime asks technology companies in USA, Korea, Japan to do this favor for them. You don't even have to ask China to make spying possible.
Google, Facebook, Twitter are among the most important companies for CIA/FBI to infiltrate. Not only for invigilation (no court order for wiretap necessary), but also for manipulating the public. Censorship, shadow banning is overseen by the espionage (CIA) and political police (FBI, DHS).
If they want to frame someone for a terrorist act or create a politically useful narrative for a shooting, they can use those agents in social media companies. Agents can create a "live video streaming" of the event from the Facebook's own servers. Or make a fake post on Twitter account of the patsy right before the staged attack (like pledging allegiance to al-Qaeda, ISIL, or whatever else). They can even make up posts retroactively.
Orwellian regime can make you believe anything.
